Is The Homestead Academy a private school?

A:

No. The Homestad Academy is considered a "micro-school." We offer a flexible drop-off program for one, two, or three day participation in five, 6-week sessions throughout the school year (30 weeks total).

All students are registered homeschoolers and must have a completed Notice of Intent to Homeschool (NOI) completed with the State. The Homestead Academy offers supplemental support in science, home economics, youth entreprenurialship, and writing workshops.

Where are you located?

Our Homestead Academy is hosted at a private residence. For safety and privacy, the exact address is not shared on public sites. The address is in south-west Fayetteville, Arkansas off the Wedington Drive exit.

What do you DO at The Homestead Academy?

A:

Our mornings are filled with Homestead related animal, plant, first aid, and skills development project-based learning. NO, you're NOT paying tution to do our chores, but students WILL particpate in physical activities related to their specific projects. 

Monday & Wednesday are specific to animal and plant sciences - animal husbandry, foraging, herbal remedies, micro-farming, etc and youth market developmet (entreprenureal projects).

Tuesdays are focused on "Lost Skills" such as working with various tools, fishing, archery, BB rifle/marksmenship, and culinary development.

Our sessions build on each other, though there is always room for a new beginner.

We're a student led organization, many of our topics are chosen by our students.

What ages do you enroll?

For the Fall 2025 season, we are enrolling students ages 8-16.

Q:

Is this a drop-off program, or are parents required to stay?

A:

Our programs are designed to be drop-off services; however, The Homestead Academy will NEVER tell a parent they cannot be with their child.
